Respondents Answers (CNTL-F to search)
1850010 -
1858645 Good clean restaurant with a range of choices. Jackie’’s would be perfect.
1858647 America/grill/bistromexican
1858648 a tapas restaurant or a hamburger/salad type placethat had a small bar
1858649 New American, like the Tabard Inn, Sergio’’s or Royal Mile Pub
1858657 Chinese would be nice.
1858661 Indian, Thai
1858664 Clyde’’s (upscale American), Capitol City Brewery,upscale dessert/wine cafe
1858670 A good family style diner breakfast always, nothing fancy then american staples with good farmer’’s market ingredients for dinner meat loaf, roast chicken, vegetable plate with wine and beer
1858678 Chinese, Vietnamese, diner-style
1858685 IndianThaianything else of high quality
1858691 American, French, Italian
1858693 Indian, Vietnamese, actually almost any kind as long as it is superb
1858715 A thai restaurant, a local quotAmerican-farequot sports bar, and a Cheesecake Factory.
1858717 ContinentialJapaneseMediterranean
1858724 Chinese foodItalianFrenchdeligood pizzagood bakery
1858739 fair trade local organic produceexotic ethnic small dishes
1858750 Decent Asian.
1858797 south or central american, italian, american.with table service
1858812 upscale veg/healthy Thyme in Bethesda is perfectexample
1858831 Really good food tablecloths interesting wines beer no microwaved leftovers a la Savory and Everyday Gourmet. Perhaps Italian (not pizza, red-sauce pasta), French, Spanish dishes thoughtful menu, creative preparation, high-quality food. We also need interesting stores and not junktique shops like the way-too-many that grace the streets of Takoma Park’’s downtown now. Maybe an Italian salumeria, a wine shop specializing in wines from the US, diversity such as one finds in Alexandria (VA) as well as high quality merchandise. Emphasis should be in quality and diversity efforts should steer away from repetition and tackiness.
1858836 Indian, Thai, Chinese, Mexican, Bakery/Bistro,
1858839 More ethinic food.I would love a good Vietnamese restaurnt like Four Sisters. A reallt good pizza place like Pizza Paradiso in Dupont circle. No chains. No American or Italian. A good inexpensive Japanese restuarant would be wonderful.
1858844 anything interesting, assuming we could have a glass of wine or beer with dinner
1858868 Anything decentChineseAmericanBurgersFrench Italian
1858872 Continental:gulash, breaded veal cutletClassic American: roast beef, steak, etc.
1858873 An Italian place would be great again... the ones near by are on the high end and we like pasta! We do carry-outs a lot, so a place that offers that would be great too. A restaurnat like Sweet Water Tavern in VA might also do well since it would have a variety of dishes along with nightly specials. I think that the restaurant would need to have a variety of meat and vegetarian dishes to survive in Takoma Park.
1858875 Asian, Mexican
1858877 simple, indian, vegetarian
1858883 Italian, Mediteranean, American, French
1858909 1) TOP PRIORITY: A neighborhood pub that serves goodfood like Colonel Brooks Tavern in Brookland (D.C.)and the Olney Ale Tavern in Olney. A place that’’s bothkid-friendly and has good beer on tap, that has a mixof sandwiches and more elaborate dishes. Maybe theowners of Colonel Brooks, Ellis Island (also inBrookland) or Jackie’’s in Silver Spring could bepersuaded to open a place like this in the Taliano’’sspace.2) Beyond a neighborhood pub, I’’d be happy with somehigh-quality, authentic ethnic food in a place whereyou can sit down and have a meal as well as take out good Chinese (there’’s so much bad stuff out there),Thai, Vietnamese, Indian, Ethiopian, West African,Caribbean, Latin American (though there’’s already tonsof this nearby), whatever.
1858929 Vietnamese, Indian, ContinentalAny restaurant that cares about food and nutrition, that is not loud, that has a good exhaust fan so thatyou do not come home smelling like food.
1858939 American
1859048 Asian cooking Chinese, Japanese, Thai, etc.Italian , French (not likely!), Any ethnic cooking would be welcome.
1859082 Vietnamese, Thai, AfghanWe’’d LOVE to see a branch of Joe’’s Place Pizza Pasta come to TP!!
1859122 Thai, seafood, sushi
1859124 Thai, Seafood, Sushi
1859148 Anything different from what we already have. No moreSavory-like places in particular.
1859152 (1) a bistro like the Red Dog cafe in Silver Spring ( I would love for them to open a second restaurant here)someplace you can go with your partner on a date that has some ambience and is affordable, (2) A fresh bagel bakery(3) a place that caters to kidswith kid performers/activities, edible pizza, etc.
1859153 A restaurant with a liquor license, on caliber tocompete with the quotSilver Sprungquot restuarants, althoughI would prefer that it not be a chain restaurant.
1859163 Higher-end food (tablecloth restaurant).
1859164 Not particular about type, but a nice sit down, kid friendly, restaurant for dinner would be nice.
1859168 ethiopian, thai, korean, vietnamese, cuban, greek, vegetarian
1859174 bakery (bagels),Vietnamese,Japanese,Korean,
1859175 thai, italian
1859176 Italian or Vegetarian
1859178 (1) Good American (not solely vegetarian) or, if ethnic, French or Italian (no Chinese or Middle Eastern). Something more upscale than is now available, with table cloths, at least for evening meals. (2) REally good carryout. Not fast food, but real meals. Again, not Chinese. Home delivery would be a bonus, but not essential.
1859184 none

1859194 Italian (good pizza), Thai/Chinese/Vietnamese
1859196 french bistro, asian, thai
1859198 something creative, fresh, and excellent
1859199 Something SE Asian, Italian ... almost anything, as long as it’’s good.
1859200 I would simply fill in the blank for whatever is not there presently. There is not much there, so something ethnic, traditional American, fine dining. You name it the area could support it if the food were good.
1859201 Vegan. Delicious, healthy, gourmet vegan. Like Java Green and Great Sage.
1859205 One with easy parking
1859206 Chinese, Thai
1859208 Better quality sit-down dinner places - nothing wrong with what we have but would be nice to have some more variety.
1859209 sushi
1859210 Vegan
1859217 FusionWine bar and cafe
1859226 Vegetarian and vegan
1859237 real food
1859238 Fine American, Italian
1859250 Italian Thai diner deli seafood decent burgers fries
1859280 multi-ethnic, more vegetarian/vegan to complement Mark’’s, Japanese
1859281 Soul Food,Asian,Sushi
1859284 Asian
1859310 Gourmet vegetarian, Mediterranian, fresh/interesting sandwiches
1859311 Japanese, Latin American
1859323 Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, brewery
1859325 Something like Java Green (on K St. downtown) would bephenomenal. No matter what, there should be excellentvegan options.
1859330 Well, to be honest, I don’’t know of any good restaurant in Takoma Park. So anything that is good and clean (!!!) would be wonderful.
1859336 IndianItalian, not chainAsian, not Chinese ... you get the drift
1859337 one using organic/local ingredients
1859339 Indian, Italian, American (buger, salads, chicken), ANYTHING

1859344 more ethnic options: Indian, Ethiopian, Thai
1859346 Colorado Kitchen, Mexican, a better quality Savory with no music.

1859348 family-oriented, moderately-priced, healthy choices
1859349 ChineseDim sumtapasSushi
1859350 modern american bistro fare
1859351 ethiopian, burmese, italian, thai but a real restaurant with tables and waitstaff and beer/wine.
1859352 asian, bar
1859353 Thai,Vietnamese,Korean,
1859354 Starbucks Coffee, Italian (to replace Taliano’’s), maybe a national chain like Noodles and Company
1859355 Another full breakfast restaurant. Right now we only have Mark’’s Kitchen which is fabulous, but often very crowded on weekend mornings.
1859356 pie
1859357 vegan-friendly also I wouldn’’t mind a cozy bar like the Quarry House in Silver Spring
1859358 all american
1859359 comfort food. Good soups and breads, good salads, small number of well cooked consistent main dishesthat are fresh (unlike Savories, where everythinglooks so old that one risks death if one eats it)

1859390 Traditional American
1859391 chinese or italian
1859392 french
1859393 Thai
1859394 International/interesting with alcohol. For example, get Samantha’’s to open a branch here.
1859396 Italian, Thai, GOOD hamburgers, GOOD brick oven pizza (other examples and types: Rocklands (BBQ), Cafe Deluxe, Sala Thai, Five Guys Hamburgers, Cactus Cantina, Colorado Kitchen, Samantha’’s, Zio’’s, etc.)DO NOT BRING TO TAKOMA PARK THE FOLLOWING: Fuddruckers another bad Italian restaurant (e.g. Taliano’’s, Armand’’s Pizza, etc.) anything overpriced another coffeehouse (We have three! THREE!) anything vegan (Mark’’s Kitchen has exhausted that genre).Takoma Park needs something HIGH QUALITY, AUTHENTIC, NON-MAJOR-FRANCHISE, NOT EXPENSIVE BUT NOT CHEAP EITHER, NON-COFFEE-RELATED.
1859402 Healthy gourmet seafood
1859403 Chinese, Thai, Mongolian, Japanese, Mexican, Salvadoran, seafood. A variety of food, but a place with good service.
1859404 Upscale pub/American Cuisine

1859409 Chi-chi nouveau American.
1859414 sushi, thai, continental
1859415 Vegan
1859417 I’’m vegan, so whatever it is, I’’d like to see a goodion of vegan/vegetarian offerings. Would likewine or beer with dinner, and a slightly more formalatmosphere than current offerings. It isn’’t moreformal, but a place like Sammy T’’s in Fredericksburg(google it, I think they have a site) seems like agreat fit for TP.
1859419 thai, french - something with a bit more class
1859420 one serving alcohol, good food, family friendly, good american food, thai, forward looking food
1859421 Something fun... family oriented - Fuddruckers with arcade games?
1859423 Flexible - good food can be from anywhere.
1859424 Ethnic - Japanese, or anything else good (not Indian- or Ethiopian) we have those already in the area)
1859425 Asian (Thai, Korean, Japanese), American, Latin, anything!! We just need more. And we need the stores to stay open in the evenings.
1859428 Indian, vietnamese
1859433 Japanese (sushi), Italian, Central American
1859436 Chinese, Thai or Pan-AsianVegetarianPub

1859468 indian, thai, american, el salvadorean
1859477 plain, well-prepared (fresh ingredients - not necessarily organic), basic food: chicken, beef, vegetarian. Like a meatloaf mashed potatoes place, but not in a diner environemnt the kind of place you could go for a dinner with some ambience, take kids, have a date, etc.
1859479 Mainly high quality food and preparation. French, american, good deli, thai, healthy salads, preparedfoods to bring home for dinner. Also places likeudupi, tiffin, mandalay, jackie’’s, ray’’s the classics, samantha’’s, parkway deli would all be wonderful w/inwalking.

1859540 Good Italian and/or good pizzaa quotgrownupquot restaurant (like Red Dog near the Parkway Deli in Silver Spring)ThaiEthiopian
1859542 Burgers/American, pizza, Thai almost anything aslong there is good ambiance!

1859780 american eclecticsushi
1859786 Perhaps a tapas location, which would be differentthan what is around. Maybe also a bistro?
1859789 Something along the lines of Black’’s Market in Garrett Park or Addies. They have a reasonable brunch, lunch and dinner. Very good food and affordable. I wish you could put a restaurant in the house behind Savory when ages ago the Co-op tried a restaurant.
1859792 Anything! We have far too few choices. Probably don’’t need any more Chinese food, but Thai would be great, Italian, a sports bar w/pub fare no big chains, though.

1859811 Thai Deli - like Parkway, good, interesting, low fat quotgourmetquot sit-down but casual, medium priced - like Middle East Cafe but with broader menu. (LOVE Middle East Cafe!)
1859814 A nice, sit-down dinner restaurant that serves alcohol somewhere you’’d have a nice date. The restaurants we now have are great, but they’’re very casual and we need more quotdinnerquot restaurants.
1859816 Vegetarian or including a range of vegetarian dishes(as well as non-veg). Choice 1: a moderately pricedquotnicequot place like Great Sage in Clarksville, MD(http://www.great-sage.com) or 2 a cheaper verycasual place like Sammy T’’s (http://www.sammyts.com)in Frederickisburg, VA (or the old Food for Thought inDupont Circle).

1859821 americanindianthaivegetarian
1859824 Anything in a more nice sit down enviornment. I’’dlike modern American, Italian, or Indian. I’’d alsolike to see a larger Mark’’s Kitchen. The Red RockCanyon Grill in Silver Spring is good modern American. Good Italian is a little hard to find in theareamost Italian places are either old style badpasta or way too heavy. Few have good vegetarianoptions (although Italian food in Italy has greatvegetarian options). A good light Italian restaurant with good veggie options and nice Pizza would benice. Mamma Lucci’’s in Silver Spring does that fairlywell (at night the restaurant has tablecloth wait service.
1859826 Deli sandwiches or Italian or Chinese basically anything with decent and reasonably priced food.

1859849 anything ethnic
1859850 Italian (like 2 Amy’’s), American, French bistro
1859858 mexican, afghan, vietnamese
1859860 A GOOD dinner restaurant - with nuveau / California / Vegitarian / Organic cuisine. For that I’’d pay up to $50 per person
1859864 -Thai or Pan-Asian-General bar fare-Mexican or Latin
1859865 Indian, american
1859870 Italian. There are few good Italian restaurants inthe area. Perhaps Indian.
1859871 Just as long as it is good quality food, any cuisine other than Ethiopian would be great.
1859872 Chinese bakery
1859873 Maybe a nice English Pub orAfrican Food, like Sub-Saharan Africa
1859875 Italian, Thai, Greek, bistro
1859876 american, family friendly, maybe a fun pizza type place, but sit down, with beer

1859890 Ethnic is fine. But alcoholic drinks are de rigeur.
1859895 sushi, healthful Mexican, Indian, Lebanese/other Middle Eastern, bar-b-cue. More veggie options are also always nice.
1859896 organic foodeuropean
1859901 japanese, nouveau cuisine, italian
1859904 The issue is not cuisine, it is destination. There isno restaurant in Takoma Park worthy of bringing out oftown guests to experience Takoma Park ambiance + havea good but casual dinner. So we go to Bethesda/DC.
1859906 Higher quality ItalianMexicanChinese
1859913 seafood,american,italian,soul food,
1859915 Healthy, American Soul FoodMexican
1859925 comfort

1860014 Italian, Asian (Thai), something like the Colorado Kitchen (Colorado Ave DC!
1860019 Vietnamese French Turkish Japanese
1860025 Thai
1860029 Never mind cuisine, I’’d like something dark with alcohol. Something romantic. And delicious. Not picky on cuisine.

1860071 fresh salads with topping options.
1860072 Anything
1860073 I’’d like to see a restaurant that is kid friendly, fun, has a variety of good microbrews, maybe a place with funky, different kinds of pizza and sandwiches with lots of vegetarian options. Something like this place I went to recently in FL, http://www.mellowmushroom.com/main6.html
1860079 We’’d love a sushi restaurant near by. If not that, then a restaurant that has a slightly nicer/upscaleappearnace than Mark’’s with good, reasonably pricedfood. We don’’t need another vegetarian focused (welike vegetarian food, just need more options) oranother coffee shop like Savory).
1860080 Seafood, Light fare i.e. soups and salads
1860088 anything that is good and not a chain
1860090 FrenchThai
1860107 1. Takoma Park desparately needs fast-food fried chicken.2. Viet Namese3. A pizza place to replace Talianos
1860117 Any type of AsianGood Italian
1860119 dont know
1860120 Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Indonesian, French, Italian, Spanish, South American, Californian
1860124 Indian, light american, family-friendly, no chain restaurants, something eco-minded with activities for kids
1860125 Classic american diner
1860127 Sushi, French, Thai,
1860130 ethnic
1860137 Not Sure
1860140 Thai, Sushi bar, vegetarian
1860141 Something like quotAu pied de cauchonquot which used to be a fast French food restaurant in Georgetown
1860143 seafood, american, continental
1860147 quotethnicquot restaurants of all types from Chinese to Italian to Indian etc.
1860152 vegetarian indian
1860160 Thai
1860161 Thai, Jamaican, organic haute cuisine.
1860166 No opinion
1860168 Italian, Greek, American, South American, French
1860169 A GOOD pizza place. Asian.
1860174 American,
1860177 Italian, Thai, Pub Style Food, Indian
1860178 A diverse place, like the Red Dog Cafe. That serves interesting sandwiches, salads, pastas, etc.
1860181 Indian, Middle Eastern, Thai
1860182 something ethnic or great new american cuisine
1860183 Diner
1860184 Southern/Cajun Barbecue German French
1860188 More upscale. Wine bar/restaurant. Do not need anything too casual.
1860189 a gourmet pizza, sub and salad joint with great beer anddesserts would be awesome!
1860191 Any high quality ethnic cuisineIndian / Thai / Mexican / European
1860193 seafood, soulfood
1860194 Sushi (Japanese), anything Asian, good American - mostanything! Wine bar or somewhere with decent beerwould also be great.
1860204 Vegetarian/Vegan
1860205 Olive Garden type Italian resturant
1860213 A good italian restaurant would be nice, or thai orsome sort of fusion - the key is that you will have avery local customer base and need to have a menu thatkeeps evolving (i.e. diverse daily specials)
1860214 sushi
1860215 Vietnamese, Latino (with breakfast)
1860222 Anything interesting and well-prepared would work, although my personal favorites are sushi, new-Latin or pan-Asian.
1860223 Italian, Thai, Vietnamese, Seafood
1860227 GOOD pizza with nice Italian food - a restaurant, not just a take out place. Good wine.Good asian food - sushi ot Thai or some sort of fusion. I think Takoma Park needs a NICE dinner spot - kind of place TK PK parents would want to go for a dinner date, instead of driving to DC os SS. Can someone help Savory get their act together to have better service and better food? Wasted opportunity there.
1860231 American (like a Clydes menu).
1860238 good Italian or eclectic I’’m looking for a better quality restaurant.
1860239 The type of cuisine is far less important than the quality of the experience. Takoma Park should have AT LEAST a couple of restaurants you wouldn’’t be afraid to take out of town guests to.
1860241 Chinese or Japanese cuisine. also california cuisineor a wine bar
1860242 Any is fine
1860243 Sports bar (pub food)Pizza/ItalianThaiLatin
1860247 an upscale dinner restaurant. We are well covered for day use, but no nice place. Could be small and expensive. Fine!
1860253 Health oriented! Fresh Vegetable and Fruit. Hasvegetarian ions on menu.
1860255 Upscale fine dining Indian Thai upscale Italian
1860257 Healthy, eclectic, with local produce/meats
1860261 Something good! Could be noveau-American or ethnic food - in a fun environment.
1860268 Good JapaneseGood ItalianGood American
1860275 A Jackie’’s-like hip, American upscale placeThaiUPSCALE ChineseUPSCALE JapaneseUPSCALE Italian/pizzaMODERATE FrenchUPSCALE West AfricanA branch of Mi Rancho or Negril or other excellentHispanic or Caribbean place (there are lots of thesein SS, but there are lots of people in our town whoeat these too)Alchohol please!Probably not needed because we already have them veryclose by: Middle Eastern, cheap pizza, cheap Chinese, coffee shop, Korean, Indian
1860284 MEAT! No more organic, healthy bullshit. Give us some steak and potatoes! Real food, please.
1860285 Thai!!! Indian, Vietnamese, Latin American/Mexican - all with Vegan options.
1860288 Thai, vegan (I mean completely vegan, no animal products), mexican.
1860291 Italian and American
1860299 asian or new american, but pretty much anything...onenice upscale restaurant that serves wine in town wouldbe great
1860300 Upper end, full service contemporary AmericanMid-upper end full service vegetarian americanOther mid-upper end, full service ethnic, thai, moroccan, indian, latin, sushi, japanese, european
1860303 AsianAmericanFrench
1860307 Any high quality cuisine would be appreciated especially if it is combined wth an interesting ambience
1860314 Open City (New American)Bar with great burgersSpices (Thai/asian)w/ carryout
1860318 asian and new american
1860319 A really good burger joint (Mark’’s Kitchen burgers are unpredictable in quality - depends on the grill man that night and their french fries are terrible.)A really good chinese place, a really good bakery (Orbus/Yorvis off New Hampshire is outstanding - would be great if something like that existed in TP) and I wouldn’’t mind good Indian food place either.
1860321 It would be great to see other restaurants that are open past 9:00 p.m. I would be interested in seeing a restaurant serving pub type food, and any other sorts of ethnic foods. However, I don’’t think it matters the type of food, but that there is a sense that the downtown area of Takoma is vibrant and alive! Right now, the area closes at around 7 p.m. and there isn’’t that much to do, lots of empty building fronts, etc. We would love to be able to walk downtown and go to restaurant or have a few drinks later in the evening, and right now that option doesn’’t necessarily exist in Takoma.
1860328 Thai, eat-in Chinese/Szechuan, Vietnamese, English or Irish Pub style, Japanese
1860330 Thai, Indian and Mexican.
1860333 Bar and Grill, Casual Mexican/Cuban, Thai, Italian restaurant with good wine, sushi.
1860337 american or italian family-friendly - burgers, pizza, chicken tenders, pasta, etc. we already have ethnic restaurants.
1860366 I would actually like to see something like the Silver Palette style take out. I would like to swing by after work and pick up dinner to bring home.
1860367 American, Italian,
1860375 It doesn’’t matter as long as they have something on the menu for me to order that is not fried or highly spiced with chilies.
1860377 don’’t know
1860402 Thai, Asian, Gourmet pizza instead of Talianos, Gourmet American like the original Savory had, Gourmet deli like Sutton Place, Adega style cafe with great wine ions, brewery with pub food, Indian, Ethiopian, Burritos like Burrito Brothers or Chipotle
1860404 Italian, regional American, Thai
1860405 ThaiCaribbean/Latin American
1860420 Dose not matter as long as it is nice
1860445 American, Southwestern, Thai, Mexican
1860463 OrientalItalian
1860465 I’’d like to see more ethnic restaurants. Indian, Thai,Ethiopian. I burger place might be nice too. A bakerywould be great
1860468 Anything Asian. Brick oven / gourmet pizza. A micro-brewery that serves food (like Franklins in Hyattsville or DogFish Head). A vege friendly restaurant alternative to Mark’’s Kitchen. And PLEASE... something with a fun atmosphere, perhaps with live music.
1860470 I would like to see a more upscale restaurant added to Takoma Park. I would recommend something like Logan Tavern in Logan Circle in DC. Excellent brunch and lunch on the weekends. Dinner every night. Nice atmosphere table cloth restaurant but not too fancy. Can get anything from egg dishes to french toast to sandwiches or a salad for brunch/lunch and steaks, fried chicken breast, pasta, etc. for dinner. It is all very good. It would be nice to be able to walk with guests to a nice restaurant and I do not feel that Takoma Park has anything like that now. Most of the restaurants feel extremely casual and a bit run down and dirty. The last time I tried to eat something at Savory it was so stale I cannot believe they even sold it to me. I haven’’t been back since. It’’s sad.
1860475 Decent pub/bar restaurant with micro brewed beer.Good seafood place, a la Kincaid’’s.A good breakfast/brunch place.
1860476 Italian, French, Indian
1860488 natural, organic, veg, seafood
1860500 Asian (Thai, Japanese)Middle Eastern
1860504 Anything new!
1860514 Italian, American Cafe, Japanese, Thai (in order of preference). Something with ambiance!
1860524 Ethnic
1860531 anything authentic. ie no quotcalifornia tortillaquot yes mom and pop latin cuisineall asianall latinall mediterraneananything, just not ersatz
1860545 anything that’’s open later than the restaurantsalready there...they all close too early on weeknights!!!
1860570 Vegetarian/Vegan
1860585 A good deli, sushi bar, sit down restraunt with good healthy salads and American comfort food, good sit down asian and a good breakfast place.
1860598 vegan food (no animal products!)
1860601 Thai, Steakhouse, Vegetarian
1860603 any, as long as it’’s good
1860604 Mexican, Ethiopian, Indian
1860608 Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, California
1860610 Moderately priced food WITH ALCOHOL! Something like Samantha’’s, Jackies, or a smaller Franklins, where you can take your kids, but eat good food. Italian, Mexican, Thai, Burgers, Brew pub, something that serves meat as well as vegetarian dishes. Something clean, with table clothes and some space between the tables and responsive service (which currently does not exist in TP). Something with a seasonal menu, organic options noted on the menu. We need a variety of restaurants - I’’d start with moderately priced, but am happy to support more high-end choices too, which are largely absent even in Silver Spring. In summary, I want businesses that target the many professional, progressive upper middle class families living in TP that want good food, a good drink and good service. I’’ve lived in TP for 15 years, and will continue to shop and dine elsewhere because TP businesses have yet to meet my needs.
1860616 Traditional American or Good Greco/Italian. I am notfond of Middle Eastern or the organic scene that seemsto prevail. I think that by placing one quotmainstreemquottype of restaurant among the organic ones that arealready there, business would pick up for all of therestaurants, new and existing. There would be alarger audience.
1860620 Italian, Japanese-sushi, Salvadorian/Mexican (like Samantha’’s)
1860622 african,asian fusion
1860635 Upscale-ish diner/coffee shop where people can quothang out.quotUpscale-ish fine dining restaurant, French, American, ? where one could go for a date, to get away from the kids, or celebrate an event.Better quality chinese restaurant. Most around Silver Spring are inedible.
1860637 nepalese, thai, indonesian
1860641 another ethnic restaurant
1860649 german, indian
1860656 Good Thai restauratnt. Upscale small grocery store or deli.
1860658 Indian, seafood, nouvelle cuisine, pub food, almost anything....
1860689 I would be happy with any vegetarian-friendly place. In particular, I think there is definitely room for another asian/thai/fusion place. Or an indian place right near old town would be *great*. Mexican would be good, or even just a nice pub or continental cuisine/glorified diner, or all-purpose italian place.
1860696 soul food
1860711 Anything but chain food.
1860712 inexpensive ethnic food that offers delivery as well as a comfortable, pleasant, and family-friendly eating-in experience
1860713 Barbeque
1860730 Italian
1860733 A good coffee and sandwich shop, a good pizza place, good Chinese or Thai and maybe a nice white-tableclothrestaurant.
1860739 New American cuisine or Maryland seafood would be great. A good Italian or a French restaurant that wasn’’t too fancy (like the old Pie de Cochon in Georgetown) some place with good service that you could go for a nice evening out, with a decent bar, would be fabulous!
1860751 good Italian (more than a pizzeria), Indian (with takeout), good Chinese (with takeout), Japanese ...
1860759 American, Spanish, Italian, Seafood, Soulfood, Chinese
1860767 Deli, Indian, Ethiopian, Thai, good Chinese - sitdown restaurants. All in Old Town, not driving distance away. A decent pizza place with good beer would be great too.
1860772 Mexican, American, Italian
1860775 vegetarian, organic, healthyAsian
1860783 Italian and French
1860795 A good diner type breakfast place, some nicer asian places for dinner. We never take guests to dinner in Takoma. Also a good pub where you can have a drink and some ’’healthy bar fare.’’ Java Green in DC is amazing - it’’d be great to see another in Takoma.
1860796 More upscale vegetarian/organic restaurant Mark’’s food in a larger, prettier venue
1860805 a nice asian, vegetarian or indian place with good wine list.a great pizza place with wood burning oven like coppi’’s (on U street in DC)any restaurant that is not geared towards family/kidsa place to get a good alcoholic drink a place with a quotvibequot like jackie’’s (on sligo ave in silver spring)takoma park REALLY needs a midrange to upscale DINNER restaurant. lunch, brunch and kid-friendly places are already covered in takoma park.
1860819 Indian, Good Italian, Some kind of Asian Fusion
1860841 Mexican Food (Chipotle Rio Grande Cafe types)Asian FusionItalian family style
1860843 I would love to see more vegetarian (actually vegan) dishes offered in Takoma Park restaurants. I travel all the time to DC, Silver Spring, and Rockville for restaurants that cater to vegetarians but it would be great if there was one of these restuarants in my home city. I know of a lot of friends and coworkers who live in Takoma Park who are just as frustrated by the lack of vegetarian options as I am.
1860854 soul food
1860861 Italian, more Asian
1860875 something like the Parkway Deli on Grubb Rd. would be great! Good food for a good price. Not fancy!
1860882 Anything that is bright, clean, fun, and has decent food (and decent wine). TKPK is a wasteland as far as we’’re concerned. Mark’’s is acceptable as a lunch and brunch place, but not dinner (and it doesn’’t translate well into take-out). Savory has really gone downhill and is very quothippiequot in service and atmosphere.
1860889 anything
1860914 I’’d like to see a nice, sit-down, adult, ambient restaurant with a bar. I’’m open to many types of cuisine.
1860940 not sure
1860992 vietnamese, japanese, vegetarian
1861014 Mexican, Vietnamise
1861022 afghanitalianamerican but diet conscious
1861029 Anything but a chain! Really, anything of quality that’’s not a chain.
1861036 Ethnic restaurants(Ethiopian, Indian, Thai, Vietnamese)
1861048 American (traditional or nouvelle, especially sea food),French, Southern Italian
1861066 Carribean, Italian, TexMex
1861067 Something ethnic, high quality and not a chainrestaurant.
1861078 ethnic, interesting/unique American
1861079 we need a pub/tavern with good beer and a lighter fare menu - sandwiches, burgers, etc.
1861085 Vegan restaurants (no animal products including dairyand eggs)
1861087 Any decent restaurant that offered wine and beer. A mix of cuisines or just traditional American. Actually, the more restaurants, the better. That is what draws people.
1861113 A tavern/sandwich place (with also nice entrees) and aplace where you could sit and have a beer with friends like Colonel Brooks in DC. Almost any ethnic agood Chinese or Thai. It would be nice to have a goodItalian/pizza place again. A place with good salads.
1861125 Italian, Japanese
1861128 A white-tablecloth restaurant: some kind of fusion cuisine, Mediterrean or Asian influenced
1861157 Seafood and gourmet poultry
1861164 Fine Diningany typeItalian/pizza
1861173 American and Indian
1861182 American, with wine and beer.Something upscale with good service and ambiance.
1861183 I liked Taliano’’s as a place to buy a draft beer order a pizza - hated the cig smoke.A good Italian restaurant would be great, but so woulda cafe with a wide-ranging menu (remember the oldAmerican Cafe? We liked to eat there)
1861187 Asian
1861188 pizza, chinese, bar, a comfortable cafe
1861193 AmericanSeafoodMexican
1861196 sit-down mixture
1861203 i like what we have, but in general its not verycheap. being a teenager, i see few feasible options.marks kitchen is pretty good, but it can still be alittle pricey.
1861204 something ethnic
1861260 Pub, regional italian, japanese, thai,
1861267 italian, japanese, vegetarian
1861270 American Nouveau, french,
1861279 Ethiopian, Vietnamese
1861280 white tablecloth types (where we are served, can havedinner with wine), ethnic (Thai, central American,Italian, French), American nouvelle, seafood, etc
1861288 Soul food
1861290 A nice American food restauaunt like Franklin’’s in Hyattsville that has beer and wine. While children are great, there tends to be too much of a focus on them in restauraunts in Takoma Park. A place for the adults to eat without screeching, drooling, yelling children would be great.
1861291 really good chinese sushi intersting diner-type
1861301 Indian,italian
1861302 No chains
1861303 Caribbean, Thai, Southern, Indian
1861307 IndianItalian

1861378 ItalianJapanese Steakhouse
1861392 pizza, kid friendly food
1861404 thai, mexican sushi american indian
1861408 Not sure, but maybe a microbrewery that has burgers, etc. and some good music. Or an ethnic restaurant like Vietnamese.
1861414 grille, american, belgian, italian,
1861415 Indian southern asian
1861416 Indian, Japanese (sushi in particular), Eclectic (seafood and meat entrees), Thai, pretty much anything at this point given that the choices are so limited.
1861417 Beer, pub food
1861444 Any type of cuisine, but something a bit more upscale would be nice.
1861450 italianmexican
1861451 Indian or Thai
1861460 I’’d like to see more vegan options. At present, Mark’’sKitchen is the only place with any decent vegan food.
1861477 I like to be able to get a nice semi-fancy,semi-upscale dinner with my wife, maybe have seafoodand a decent bottle of wine. What cuisine is that? Otherwise we love Thai, Indian, Ethiopian... Thaiseems underrepresented.
1861518 asian, fusion, good italian
1861522 diner italian thai mid-eatern gourmet pizza seafood
1861532 any cuisine that is good, high quality food, not necessarily expensive. American or ethnic. A good bagel shop or wine/cheese shop would be great too.

1861794 NY Style Pizza, brewery, ethnic, vegetarian
1861830 A good, affordable mexican restaurant (not a chain), or a new Italian restaurant (with a better atmosphere than the current one). Or New Orleans/cajun cuisine. Really good, relatively affordable cuisine like Colorado Kitchen.
1861850 Neighborhood Pub/Sports (Pub Grub, Darts, Pool, and Drinks), a meeting place with friends Indian (not strictly veggie though) Encouragement for outdoor seating for as many places as possible (or perhaps with the new buildings that are going up, a rooftop location if ground level noise is an issue)Basically, social places and etc type venues that encourage being a destination and encourage foot-traffic however this does mean that there would need to be less political stress over the alcohol issues. There will have to be SOME concessions. Encouragement of social venues will bring in more people both from around the area, and outside.
1861867 Sidewalk CafesWine BarGood food! Currently NONE of the eatery’’s in TP are any good. I can’’t believe folks rave about Mark’’s!

1862573 more Asian/organic
1862587 I have long wanted to see a micro brew pub and a more upscale restaurant. I believe someplace like Noravery upscale organic, would be well attended in Takoma Park. I would certainly go!!!

1863422 anything ....
1863656 french,nouveau cuisine,italian,
1863698 i think Takoma Park needs a real restaurant with atmosphere not these cafeteria-like dining experiences. A place that is moderately priced, with a liquor license, American cuisine focusing on fresh local ingredients, would succeed.
1863814 Any kind. I’’d like to see a restaurant that also serves wine/beer.
1863841 seasonal American cuisine (like Jackies in SilverSpring, Persimmon or Grapeseed in Bethesda), withquotsmall platequot options for lots of tasting but notoverloading, and perhaps featuring local Maryland produce
1863918 American nouveau, French, south east asian, Real latino
1863930 Whole / Slow Foods.See:http://www.chezpanisse.com/pgalice.htmlAlice Walters and Chez Panisse (Berkley, CA) have become convinced that the best-tasting food is organically grown and harvested in ways that are ecologically sound, by people who are taking care of the land for future generations. The quest for such ingredients has largely determined the restaurant’’s cuisine. Chez Panisse has tried for years to make diners here partake of the immediacy and excitement of vegetables just out of the garden, fruit right off the branch, and fish straight out of the sea. In doing so, Chez Panisse has stitched together a patchwork of over sixty nearby suppliers, whose concerns, like the restaurant’’s, are environmental harmony and optimal flavor.
1863963 Thai, Vietnamese, pub
1863979 Brew Pub
1864026 Indian, Morrocan, Italian. Almost any food is ok as long as it is good and the atmosphere is adult.
1864046 White tablecloth, decent winelist. French bistro would be perfect, but more important is to go upscale.

1864919 Italian, Thai, something like quotThyme Squarequot in Bethesda.

1866231 sushi or reaally good burritos (Not Chipotle!!!)
1866538 Open to a wide variety of restaurants. Probably not Latin or Tex/Mex, as there are too many in Silver Spring now. Anything else would be great.
1866563 Italian, Good Pizza, Tapa’’s, Seafood, just about anything
1866707 Tex-Mex, Japanese, Fusion
1866716 Everything! I like it all, and there’’s hardly anything here.
1866777 deli
1866878 Any cuisine - just as long as it is good and the restaurant is nice.
1866994 Quality Pizza, Asian, Mexican for starters
1867015 Indian, Italian, French. A good licensed cafe like Red Dog.
1867259 It’’s not the cuisine, it’’s the location! A lot of folks in the area don’’t have/use cars, and need restaurants in walking distance. For us it’’s easier to get on the metro and go into the city or up to Silver Spring. We could use some good Mexican Korean closer to the metro/old town. Also a thai place, and a sit-down pizza joint. Not sure if sushi could make it, but I’’d frequent it. Even a sports bar, with beer and burgers, would be a good addition.
1867379 Thai, Italian, Mexican, Japanese
1867414 I would like the gourmet, organic food like at savory but at a sit down restuarant. Also a nice Italian restaurant (not a greasy pizza joint. I also think a lot of people like Thai food, and the ion at Mark’’s doesn’’t always cut it.
1867567 Pizza, Italian, Mexican/Latin American, Spanish,
1867570 organic, not necessarily vegan or vegetarian
1867786 seafoodmy highest preferencehigh qulaity tapas like Jaleo or Zyntaniaquality italian, French or Latin
1867810 HIGH HIGH QUALITY CHINESE
1867888 not sure
1867899 I would love to see a white linen restaurant with any type of cuisine, as long as it’’s of High Quality and the restaurant has a full bar. We need at least one fine-dining restaurant . . . enough of the diner atmosphere!!
1868048 healthy ethnic seafood
1868136 Latin, Thai, Vietnamese, Seafood
1868173 I am not picky about the cuisine would rather havea pleasant atmosphere and a CLEAN restaurant.
1868239 american bistro, modern Italian, fusion Asian
1868255 Thai, Indian, Italian, Mexican
1868266 A good adult restaurant, French, Italianwith table clothes and a wine list. No french fries, pizza or kids menu.

1868458 Good American/diner style food with mix of salads/burgers/sandwiches as well as regular entrees.Good pizza/Italian.Anything that would be different/good enough to draw people here from outside the neighborhood. And that would be comfortable/inviting enough to entice those of us in the neighborhood to eat there as opposed to carrying out (which is what we now tend to do).
1868466 Indian, Italian
1868468 Mexican, Asian Fusion, Vegetarian, Italian, Continental

1868571 Chinese/Asian, Mexican, Good Pizza/Italian, Vegetarian
1868574 French, slow cookery

1868605 Italian, Mexican, Thai
1868607 Vietnamese
1868629 French or Italian (not limited to a pizza joint). Someplace a bit more upscale with wine, beer, and spirits.
1868647 Ethiopian, Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Indian, Italian,Nouvelle Americain
1868733 good, with booze. There is no place to go and justget a simple bite to eat and a beer or drink. Pizzadoes not solve this. We need a real restaurant.
1868747 Burgers (good) veggie
1868900 chinese,thai, deli, diner (american)
1868948 Simple Pub food,or Italian
1869055 Any good ethnic restaurantChinese, Vietnamese, Thai. A restaurant like the Red Dog in Silver Spring.
1869167 High quality organic (see Great Sage in Clarksville)decent quality variety (like Busboys Poets)
1869188 Italian
1869212 MexicanMicrobrewery RestaurantItalian
1869393 Decent.
1869464 A wine bar would be great - like Iron Bridge Wine Company in Columbia, MD. Or truly any cuisine, just a place that is higher caliber than Middle East Cuisine or Savory. A destination restaurant that town people can enjoy but that also attracts other DC foodie types. Ray’’s the Steaks in Arlington is awesome, 2 Amy’’s Pizza in Glover Park is great too - something along those lines...
1869558 AfricanItalianChinese
1869593 Vegetarian, Indian, Ethiopian, Japanese, Thai, or other vegetable-based ethnic cuisine
1869614 any ethnic or interesting, different menu
1869705 Italian or Portuguese, seafood

1869959 something higher-end - French perhapsor lower but with a nice ambiance - an internationaltype of place we don’’t have anything that really hasa good feel to it
1870003 Pizza/ItalianTex/MexThai
1870025 Anything
1870168 Indian
1870194 high quality asian/fusionhigh quality pizza
1870204 Mexican (like a burrito jointperhaps we can borrow one of the 3 restaurants at Piney Branch and Dale Ave) or some kind of asian (Indian, Chinese, JapaneseMark’’s is already Korean).
1870206 italian.
1870209 Latin American, Vegetarian, Asian, Fusion.
1870215 good rotisery chicken and potatos. we should get a chicken out or chesepeek chicken

1871305 Italian, sushi, pub/tavern
1871395 ItalianIndian
1872183 I think Takoma Park could support any kind of AsianChinese, Thai, Japanese, Indian restaurant.
1872450 Thai or any other kind of Asian (besides Chinese), sushi, pub food
1872494 indian, japaneese
1872515 Italian, Tex-Mex, Ethiopian, Afghan
1873194 IndianThai Fine Dining American (one with tablecloths and wine and atmosphere)
1873424 eclectic. Like Franklins restaurant in Hyattsville.
1873709 Indian, Thai, Bar-b-que, Italian, Indonisian, Japanese, French, Eclectic
1874000 High quality, interesting cuisine served in an upscale, attractive setting.
1874383 excellent pizza-like 2Amy’’s comfy affordable deli all kinds of ethnic welcome: Vietnamese, Spanish tapas like Cafe Atlantico/Jaleo Indian-bring Udupi/Woodlands closer! American regional like Vidalia or Tabard Inn. Most important is the atmosphere and that it ofeers affordable to mid-range. A place that is not so cramped-would allow for running into neighbors, big groups as well as more intimate seating so you are not overwhelmed by activity around you. Cafe Deluxe is an example that accommodates families as well as couples. lively but not hyper. Agood brunch plce would be great where you can read paper or meet a group. Mark’’s is just too crowdedwish he coyuld move to a bigger place w/out door seating. OUTDOOR cafe style options. Did I mention OUTDOOR!!!! anything: rooftop replace the gazebo with a seasonal vendor and cafe tables!!! Remember the great falafel family? Take-out food options places to sit OUTSIDE!
1874557 Asian (Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese) General nouveau yuppie food
1874918 Southwestern American, Italian, Upscale American, Thai
1876131 GreenGourmetEthnic
1876311 Thai, Vitenamese, Bistro
1876373 Somehting that is kid friendly but also adult friendly like Two Amys in DC, Red Dog Cafe on Grubb, orf Jaleos in Betheda and DC basic good food that isn’’t bad carry out or quotfry cookquot food. A decent place you can have a nice time with your partner/spouse have a glass of wine relax, or bring kids to as well. We like restaurants that become more adult as the evening moves on.
1876641 asian, french, californian, indian
1878432 Fresh, well prepared and seasonsed food in any cuisinewould be welcome.
1878743 Thai, Indian, American, Mexican
1878751 Anything but Chinese or Mexican because there are already several of those in the area
1878823 food is less of an issue than ambiance - someplace clean, sophicated yet funky, outdoor seating would be nifty.
1878979 Anything but fast food
1879086 raw food
1879128 For me it is not so much about the type of cuisine, as the level of restaurant. Old Town TP lacks a fancier restaurant that my wife and I can go to on a quiet, romantic quotdate.quot Even better would be if the restaurant had a room or two attached to offer group childcare on Friday and Saturday nights at reasonable rates (say, $5/hour for first child, less for each add’’l child). This would help facilitate quotdatesquot for married couples. Could be staffed by local HS students, and supervised by a local volunteer parent on a rotating basis (perhaps 1x every 3 months or so) - the HS students being paid and the parent receiving a free meal or coupon for same from the restaurant in exchange for volunteering to supervise babysitters. Patrons could sign a waiver absolving restaurant of liability for kids, to keep its insurance costs down.
1879324 Italian
1881324 Americanie. Red Rock Canyon Grill or TGI Fridays,
1881410 Asian Funky Brew Pubs (like Franklin’’s)
1882589 none
1884888 The main feature I am looking for is the quality of the dish, not necessary its type or speciality. The quality of all TP restaurants is not good
1884985 take out Thai food or something asian, jewish deli, bakery with GOOD coffee and bread
1885623 Vegetarian, tasty, low-calorie, emphasis on veggies/fruits, NOT starchy things like bread, and NO pasta. Good ion of alchohol-free beers, also alcohol-free wines.
1886377 Good pub fare, Being Takoma, a good vegetarian retsaurant would seem logicalGood pizza restaurant
1886428 Good pub/tavern fareGood pizza Tha/ Asian
1887413 Higher scale - where you could have some wine with dinner. New American.
1887430 Sushi - New American - Burger Joint
1889758 vegan
1890049 Vegetarian/Vegan, Mexican, Thai, Indian
1890948 A white table cloth destination restaurant - modern american/french. Not ethnic/vegetarian/grungy!
1891796 A brick-oven pizza place like pizza paradiso or 2amys a neighborhood american bar/restaurant like cafedeluxea moderately priced cafe, tavern or winebar withgood atmosphere and great food
1891802 Cozy, quiet place with a bar. Vegetarian options.
1891810 decent/gourmet pizza, different types of asian

1895178 Sushi, or really, anything.
1895212 upscale bistro/wine
1895499 Anything more upscale - no more pizza, subs, or Chinese take out.
1895603 Any
1896398 Low cost, good quality American food, like a diner ordelilike parkview deli.Or a Thai or Pan Asian restaurant
1896438 (I preface this with the fact that I would prefer amuch higher quality setting and food than is currentlyoffered in town.)In order of preference:-Asian: Thai or Chinese-Italian-Mexican-African/Etheopian-Southern (Louisiana/New Orleans-type, etc.)
1898073 Delicatessen, Pizzeria/Bar, Cheap Sit-Down Restaurant
1905530 Thai, Tibetian, Indian
1914679 local,organic, upscale
1914944 Good quality interesting cuisine. The exacttype/origin is not important to me. We need somethingthat is in an interesting space (not just chairs andtable in a box shaped room) and where the staff takescare to present something innovative.
1914989 good Mexican.
1915144 Thai, deli, good chinese
1915314 Mexican Asian
1915346 Thai, Sushi, Italian
1915350 -Any kind of Asian cuisine-Organic/vegetarian-Decent Italian
1915446 Italian, Thai
1915495 I like everything, but I prefer one with a lot of vegetarian options, and one that appeals more to adults than to children. French bistro, Indonesian, pan-Asian come to mind.
1917120 Seafood,asian,novelle cuisine, something good.
1918024 Upscale American
1918119 I’’m open. A replacement for Taliano’’s would be nice (Italian), but with better food. Good food is more important than cuisine. It should have vegetarian as well as meat options.
1918717 American or Eclectic cuisine - but it has to be hip and geared primarily for adults. We have enough places with cheap cafe tables, bright lighting, and high-chairs. We need a more upscale venue with inventive food, trendy atmosphere, and a great wine, cocktail, and beer list. A well-decorated micro-brewery (if Franklin’’s of Hyattville would open another location) would also be perfect.
1918910 vegan, upscale asian
1918928 Thai, contemporary American, Italian
1921251 seafood
1924121 California CuisineMediterraneanVegetarian
1924225 Nice sit down place - More spacious than Mark’’s. Organic food. Could be ethnic or general fare.
1924226 any!
1924228 Good quality American or French. Not vegetarian or Asian.
1924240 Italian, vegetarian, Chicken Out, deli

1924362 continental,all oriental
1924395 sushi, thai, tapas, contemporary american, quality diner,
1924488 AsianSeafood
1924509 a really good ethnic restaurant, preferably Thai orchinese. But good quality, using fresh ingredients, noheavy sauces loaded with sugar, MSG, salt and all theother junk that makes 90% of the thai and chineserestaurants unbearable. CIty Lights, a chineseretaurant on Conn Ave just North of Dupont Circle hasthe kind of clean, fresh food I mean. It is just aboutthe only one I’’ve found in the DC area. There is aThai restaurant at 17th and P St. NW, also near DupontCircle, that also has wonderful food, with a lighttouch and very reasonable prices. The Thai andchinese restaurants in Silver Spring and Wheaton aretoo heavy handed for my taste, so I never eat at them.
1924546 Pan AsianSteak / BarbequeItalian
1924551 American Bistro, Upscale Italian, Microbrewery
1924590 any ethnic: vietnamese, mexican, thai, italian
1924607 A delicious all-vegetarian, all-organic sit-downrestaurant. (Nora’’s of TP?)
1924623 a quick sandwich shop (that’’s not subway), a bar!!!,anything that has a kids’’ menu and isn’’t crowded(tables too close together in Mark’’s Kitchen)
1924624 Deli type, brew pub type food with nice ambiance
1924626 PHo
1924654 ? we have a nice ion already.
1924673 organic, vegetarian,
1924683 asian
1924691 Thai, Indian, Japanese, Ethiopean
1924694 Ethiopean, Mexican, U.S. vegetarian, Japanese, goodChinese (no health violations, flavorful, interesting)
1924698 Thai, Indian, Japanese, Ethiopean
1924701 mainstream ethnic (e.g., Thai, Italian, etc.). Takoma Park also desparately needs a place with a decent bar.
1924719 Italian, thai or vietnamese
1924730 Like Al Crostino on U Street. Delicious medium-smallentrees with a wonderful ion of wines anddrinks, careful chefs and attentive service.
1924735 modern American, and especially I would like to see a*clean* and friendly restaurant, i.e. none of thegrubbiness of quotEveryday Gourmetquot or the rudeness andcockroaches of quotSavoryquot (last I was there there were 2of those beasts creeping up the wall behind me ...)
1924741 upscale pizza w/delivery, a diner
1924762 Asian, Kid-Friendly, Italian
1924774 I am open but am quite sure that I want a reasonably priced option. Please don’’t totally yuppify TP!
1924778 no preference, except not a steak house.
1924804 brunch buffet, healthy American cuisine-possibly focused on seasonal eating from local farms...with a big interesting ion of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes....also regional wines. And kid friendly.
1924812 Excellent italian with take-out
1924813 Bistro with cheese, wine, mezze options and GOODpizza, or brew pub, or upscale italian, or a bookstore/cafe, or a real deli/breakfast place with decentbagels!
1924815 Anything with vegetarian choices. Also, I would eat in TP much more often if the restaurants were clean!
1924821 Italian
1924838 New American Cuisine, Vietnamese, Fresh and Healthy fare, NOT mainstream, something along the lines of Colorado Kitchen.
1924846 Italian, Southern/Soul, Mexican
1924849 all ethnic types, also seasonal, organic cuisine.
1924854 Anything.
1924859 Italian, Indian, California
1924912 great pizza/italian
1924954 Anything other than Mexican or Central/South American food would be great. I would like to see a casual bistro/dinner spot where one could enjoy a glass of wine and a decent but not fancy dinner.
1925085 Ethiopian, French, Thai, Indian
1925089 Ethnic eateries and organic and locally grown foods.
1925104 All american such as a Ponderosa or other family style restaurant.
1925113 A fondue restaurant that serves all diets (vegan, vegetarian, and meat lovers).
1925196 Takoma Park has a restaurant scene right now?? We don’’t particularly care about type of cuisine, as long as the place is kid-friendly. Something like Franklin’’s in Hyatsville would be great. Or a good Mexican or Thai restaurant.
1925246 A place like 2 Amy’’s would be perfect. Good pizza and Italian, mid-range in terms of price, and family friendly. Getting good foot traffic going downtown if crucial. An ethnic restaurant such as a good Thai or Indian place would also be great.
1925261 Californian, Indian, pub food
1925310 sushi, good italian, decent american bar with burgers, microbrews, or a lounge with good drinks
1925354 Continental, Asian
1925450 Sushi bar Italian (not just pizza - more authentic foods) American
1925481 American style with pasta, burgers, salads, etc. that was moderately priced, but variety of food types.Need larger venue and more than vegetarian/take out options.
1925491 Wine bar/small plates. New american. Asian fusion. Thai. Brew pub.
1925636 japanese and other asian, american, soul food
1925656 A decent burger joint or pub would be nice.
1925719 I am good with anything. I like trying new stuff.
1925730 gourmet pizza (like Faccia Luna in D.C./VA)burgers/salads (like Hard Times Cafe or Red Dog)high quality Mexican (like Cactus Cantina in D.C)

1928323 1. Any fine dining experience with alcohol2. Italian (white table cloth)3. Asian (white table cloth)
1929454 ChineseMexicanIndianThai
1929474 Everything! We need American, French, gourmet pizza, anyone who will deliver, bakery, sushi!, Chinese, sit-down dinner (anything), Mexican, avant-garde, Thai, a bar, the list could go on and on...
1929753 a great pizza place, even ’’gourmet’’ pizza, Italian, American but would be nice to have a mid scale restaurant where you can get good fresh food, good wine, hang out at the bar, etc.
1930289 Country French, California herbal, light, healthy, fresh food choices, with wine and beer
1931677 I’’m less concerned with type of cuisine than with quality. I’’d like a nice restaurant with good food that serves beer and wine. Family-friendly and not super-expensive, but more expensive than Mark’’s and delicious is OK w/ me.
1932755 Indian, Thai, Italian, creative American.
1932787 Thai and other ethnic Asian ie Burmese VegetarianIndian ie.’’Udipi Palce’’ Indian Italian a goodTex-Mex like ’’Cactus Cantina’’ Vegetarian
1933039 French
1933972 soul food, thai
1938003 I care less about the particular cuisine as long asit’’s well done and the atmosphere is inviting withoutbeing too pricey. A place like Domku (Petworth) wouldbe fun, because it would fit in with the character ofthe vintage shops, although Domku is slightly overpriced. I think the food would have to be good (even betterthan Mark’’s Kitchen) to draw people in from outsideTakoma.
1951061 Italiangood ChineseMexicanIndian
1955617 Anything of quality - a bistro, japanese, - a descent bakery - whatever!
1970626 Chinese or other Asian.Note - with respect to the lunch questions, I work in downtown DC, so the lunch questions are irrelevant
